A couple in a compromising position

The content on my blogs are self-regulated. It's sometimes a very difficult job, to curb yourself from publishing your own ideas.

What's the picture you get in your mind when you read the title? What do you think would be the setting? My friend Pradeep, who stays close to the BDA park (in my neighbourhood at Avalahalli, Bangalore), would be imagining a policeman caning some youth.

What would you do if you witness such a couple? You look there, and the next moment, you get back to your work. That's the typical social behaviour. Since you don't know how to react, you don't want to accept you ever 'witnessed' the 'act'. You continue to think of the same (for few seconds more) and want to take a peep, but some other corner of your mind, you tell yourself not to. So, you are making a 'compromise' with yourself. Just like I did while putting a picture!! The 'couple' would continue to enjoy. Are they compromising on anything? Then, why use the phrase 'compromising position'? May be an English professor could answer.

A couple in a compromising position

PS:

  1. For less regulated content, there are several pages on the net. If do not have a net connection, or if you like it 'hard' (err.. on paper), buy a copy of the Times of India. That's because Bangalore Times (or your city supplement) is not sold separately!! That's another compromise you have to make. Buy TOI only for BT!!!
  2. I wrote this while travelling on a bus in Singapore. So, if I am not sleeping, I need to make some 'compromises'….. sometimes just at a foot's distance!!
